Pale straw in colour with green hues. The bouquet is very fresh, delicately reminiscent of vineyard peach and apricot, with a hint of dark aromatics. Fresh and fruity on the palate, with the distinctive Wachau minerality. Very vibrant with great structure. Every sip is stimulating and accessible to the benevolent finish with a present note of stone fruits.

The Johann Donabaum winery is one of the up-and-coming estates in the Wachau. The junior is actively supported by his parents in working the labor-intensive mountain and terrace sites. The estate's wines - Riesling Offenberg and Setzberg as well as Grüner Veltliner Spitzer Point - can be found on the best-assorted wine lists in the country. The rare Neuburger grape is also cultivated, and the Smaragd from the Spitzer Biern site is one of the outstanding representatives of this variety. A small bridge over the Spitzer valley leads to the historic estate, which dates back to the 16th century. Consistent work by the entire family is the basis for optimal grapes, the basis for high-quality wines, which are characterised by soil, climate and the handwriting of the winemaker.
