The Boatman’s Drift is based on the 18th century legend of the Flying Dutchman; a Dutch ship lost off the Cape of Good Hope in a storm. As a punishment for swearing to pass the infamous Cape no matter the cost, the captain, boat and crew were condemned to sail the seas for eternity. To this day there have been sightings of a phantom glowing ship off the coast. But those same winds that make for treacherous sailing in the Cape, make for outstanding wines.
