Spirit of Hven Stjerneborg

The bouquet is smooth and sweet (from the wine barrels?). There is some dark chocolate, weak coffee tones and some fudge. Slightly faint citrus tones. The palate is sweet and here the coffee comes out more. Really dark chocolate (high cocoa content) and some exotic fruit. A hint of peat. The finish is surprisingly long with a little acidity and a rather warming.

On the island of Hven located in the strait of Öresund between Denmark and Sweden lies Spirit of Hven. Spirit of Hven Backafallsbyn is situated on an island rich in agricultural heritage. The surrounding region is home to some of Sweden’s absolute best producers of agricultural products, which explains why we at Spirit of Hven emphasise use of local raw materials. The Spirit of Hven distillery was founded in 2008, becoming the third pot-still distillery in Sweden and the smallest pot-still distillery in the world. Their single malt Swedish whisky, meanwhile, is Sweden’s first island whisky.
