Spirit of Hven Hvenus Rye

Elegant and velvet smooth, yet powerful and flavoursome. Every batch comprises of 42 casks blended together, aerated and very gently filtered. Amber in colour. The bouquet shows nuanced, smoky aroma with barrel character, hints of dried fruit, iodine, chocolate, straw, vanilla, orange and brown sugar. The palate conjures up smoke with barrel character, hints of dried fruit, iodine, chocolate, straw, vanilla, orange and nuts. Exceptional balance and an oily mouthfeel, followed by a lengthy, rich finish.

On the island of Hven located in the strait of Öresund between Denmark and Sweden lies Spirit of Hven. Spirit of Hven Backafallsbyn is situated on an island rich in agricultural heritage. The surrounding region is home to some of Sweden’s absolute best producers of agricultural products, which explains why we at Spirit of Hven emphasise use of local raw materials. The Spirit of Hven distillery was founded in 2008, becoming the third pot-still distillery in Sweden and the smallest pot-still distillery in the world. Their single malt Swedish whisky, meanwhile, is Sweden’s first island whisky.
