Vibrant crimson red with purple hues. The bouquet shows fragrant fresh cherries, red liquorice, supported by hints of chocolate, cinnamon and earthy aromas. The palate brings sweet cheery, plum and mulberry flavours with hints of cocoa wrapped up in soft and silky tannins on a dry finish.

Following Great Grandfather, Grandfather and Father - Simon is the fourth generation of the Hackett family to be involved in the agriculture pursuits in South Australia. In 1860 Simon's great uncle attended the esteemed Roseworthy Agricultural College and Simon's father was a graduate in the inaugural Oenology (winemaking) course at the College in 1938. Simon grew up in an atmosphere steeped in wine and agriculture, spending his boyhood in the Barossa Valley alongside his father, who was General Manager of the giant Barossa Valley Distillery Plant Tarac. In 1973 Simon headed to the wine growing region of McLaren Vale where further experience was gained in the winemaking team headed by Grant Burge at the old Southern Vales Co-Op Winery. After 8 years Simon was appointed Senior Winemaker. In 1984 Simon decided to concentrate fully on establishing his own boutique McLaren Vale label.
