Light straw in colour with golden hue. The bouquet shows vibrant aromas of apples, pear, stone fruits and honey with hints of lemon zest. Delicate aromas of apple and honeysuckle, with underlying notes of citrus and vanilla. Evidence of the perfect balance between fruit, oak and acidity. The palate shows Meyer lemon, apples and spice. Great balance and structure with a lingering honey finish.

Rutherford Hill was founded in 1972 upon the discovery that Napa soil is comparable for growing grape varieties previously exclusive to Pomerol, a region of Bordeaux in France. While the rest of the world was just beginning to take notice of the Napa Valley region, the founders of Rutherford Hill were among the first to realize its potential. The conditions are perfect for cultivating the dark purple grape variety that produces Merlot, the varietal that remains Rutherford Hill's flagship today. In 1996, Anthony Terlato and his sons Bill and John, well-known for their expertise in fine wines and their dedication to exceptional quality, purchased the property. They immediately improved the quality of the vineyards, the tasting room, and the production area. The handcrafted wines being produced today at Rutherford Hill by winemaker Marisa Taylor exemplify the Terlatos' consistent commitment to quality. A substantial investment has been made in purchasing vineyards and in new long-term contracts with growers representing some of Napa Valley's finest vineyards.
