The palate brings fruit that’s sweet and dense to go with vibrant acidity, the finish having a gently savoury, slightly peppery quality. The finish is vibrant, full of energy and alive with texture.

Kayleigh Hattingh, assistant winemaker at Kaapzicht, started her own label, Rebel Rebel, with her maiden release Syrah and Colombard. Kayleigh studied viticulture and oenology at Stellenbosch University and thereafter gained winemaking experience in SA, Napa Valley and Spain. Her passion for minimal intervention, terroir-driven wines has led her to create her maiden releases from special sites in Bottelary, Stellenbosch.
