Midleton Very Rare Irish Whiskey 2021

A combination of whiskey aged between 12 and 33 years and matured in lightly charred ex-bourbon American oak barrels, the Midleton Very Rare 2022 Vintage Release delights with decadent flavours and a tantalising aroma. The aroma, taste and finish of this whiskey will enliven the palates of those new to this collection while taking the seasoned whiskey collector on a journey through an exciting exploration of taste. A delicate introduction of sweet mandarin orange citrus with green banana and vanilla. The light Herbal notes develop until the typical pot still spice, including cardamom, nutmeg and pepper, show the signature Midleton style. Whilst a touch of cedarwood and charred American oak add to the complexity. The smooth initial mouthcoating is initially sweet with vanilla and red apple, before the more robust spices, cinnamon and clove with a slice of root ginger, show their presence. There is a polished Antique Wood contribution from the barrels alongside some light Tannins and Charred Oak. The finish is extra long as the spices subside giving way to green fruit and stalks of barley.

Midleton Very Rare is the most exclusive whiskey ever produced in Ireland. Distilled three times by John Jameson and Son, the whiskey is carefully aged in individually chosen oak casks. Midleton Very Rare is only available in strictly limited quantities as just a small number of casks of the finest distillates are personally selected by the Master Distiller each year. It is reserved for the appreciation of only the most discerning judges of fine whiskeys. Each bottle is individually numbered and each label signed by the Master Distiller at the Midleton Distillery as a final guarantee of outstanding quality.
