A golden yellow straw in color. The bouquet shows complex aromas of ripe fruits, toasted bread, honey, and spice. The palate, has a crisp acidity balance and a long and creamy finish with notes ranging from citrus to brioche. The 741 D.T. is aged for 8-10 years in the cellar before release, resulting in a mature Champagne with a refined elegance and an exceptional structure.

Based in Dizy, the house of Jacquesson was founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson, who produced the house’s first sparkling wine that year. Memmie’s son Adolphe continued his work and in 1844 invented and patented the muselet, which is the cork wire basket that is still in use today. After Adolphe’s death, the house saw 50 years of decline until it was resurrected in 1925 by the Tassigny family. They have 26 hectares in the Grand Cru villages of Aÿ;, Avize and Oiry and in the 1er Cru villages of Hautvillers, Dizy and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ;. These are complemented by some 15 hectares coming from growers in these same villages as well as in the Grand Cru village of Chouilly and the 1er Cru village of Cumières. Close contact is maintained with these growers, ensuring the highest level of viticulture. Everything is done with great attention to detail, including traditional pressing methods and fermentation and storage of reserves in oak. The style throughout the range is one of intricacy and finesse, built on relatively complex blends; the wines age well. This allows them to continue to use handcrafted methods. Finally, in 1974 Champagne Jacquesson was purchased by the Chiquet family (today under the watchful eye of brothers Jean-Herve and Laurent) and there started the quest to turn this Champagne house into one of the highest quality producers in the region.
