Glenmorangie Signet

An innovative offering made with a proportion of chocolate malt and matured in virgin American oak. Some of the component whiskies are between 35 and 40 years old. Deep orange brown colour with golden hue. Sweet and inviting bouquet of mixed peel, chocolate, coffee beans and almond biscuit. The palate is thick, luscious and mouth filling, almost creamy. Pronounced flavours of chocolate, coconut, orange, vanilla and hazelnut. The palate shows no sign of spirit heat, outstanding balance. Exceptionally long on the finish, supple aftertaste of chocolate, vanilla, almond and hazelnut. Hints of orange emerge then fade.

Here in the far North of Scotland , near the ancient Royal Burgh of Tain, lies Glenmorangie. The Glen of Tranquility where malt whisky has been distilled since before 1700. The water rises in the Tarlogie Springs close to the distillery, and having filtered through lime and sandstone for half a century, is unusually hard and rich in minerals. Glenmorangie's elegant swan-neck stills are the tallest in the Highlands, so only the lightest and purist of vapours can ascend and condense. The whisky is matured in selected casks of American mountain oak which allow the natural flavour of Glenmorangie to develop fully.
