Glenmorangie 15 Year Old – The Cadboll Estate Batch 3

Brilliant straw/gold colour with water like hue. The bouquet brings aromas of nuts and sweet spice in mind, Dr Bill selected spirit created from two separate barley harvests and aged it in American oak bourbon casks to enhance those creamy depths. Then, picturing notes of hazelnut, toffee and clove, he finished a small portion in casks which once held Amontillado, his favourite style of sherry. After 15 years, Dr Bill reunited these whiskies in this series’ delicious third batch release; threading hints of toffee and spice around honeysuckle, peaches and cream on the finish.

Here in the far North of Scotland , near the ancient Royal Burgh of Tain, lies Glenmorangie. The Glen of Tranquility where malt whisky has been distilled since before 1700. The water rises in the Tarlogie Springs close to the distillery, and having filtered through lime and sandstone for half a century, is unusually hard and rich in minerals. Glenmorangie's elegant swan-neck stills are the tallest in the Highlands, so only the lightest and purist of vapours can ascend and condense. The whisky is matured in selected casks of American mountain oak which allow the natural flavour of Glenmorangie to develop fully.
