Pale golden amber with an a orangish hue. Robust, roasted nut, and mocha aromas. A round, satiny entry leads to a lightly sweet light-to medium-bodied palate with sugar-coated hazelnut, mocha nut fudge, delicate brown spices, and subtle fruitiness. Finishes with a very smooth, delicate fade fade of nuts and frosting. Brilliantly refined with delicate natural roasted nut and spice flavours. A benchmark liqueur.

According to the legend, Frangelico lived three centuries ago in a hilly area bound by the river “Po” in Italy. He lived as a hermit (hence the bottle shape) and through his love of nature and knowledge of it’s secrets created unique recipes for liqueurs. Produced in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, its origins date back more than 300 years to the presence of early Christian monks living in the hills of the area. Their skills in fine food and drink would have included the art of distilling, especially the use of the wild hazelnuts and other local ingredients to create a liqueur on which Frangelico is based today. Its name is also part of the same local legend - an abbreviation of Fra. Angelico, a hermit monk believed to have inhabited the magnificent Piedmont hills during the 17th century. The most popular one of all was a liqueur made from wild hazelnuts with infusions of berries and flowers to enrich the flavour. The tradition of “Frangelico” was born. The Frangelico bottle is an immediate reminder of this distinctive history. Shaped like a monk’s habit, with a traditional rope belt around its waist, it is a guarantee of authenticity and quality that links the past right through to the present day.
