The bouquet is very complex and fresh, with intense, forward fruit on cherry and raspberry mingled with gentle toasted almond notes. The palate is elegant with succulent tannins. Fruit flavours emerge on the mid-palate, especially cherry, while the elegant finish combines the fullness of fresh fruit with the refinement of the Casablanca terroir.

Produced by Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile, Escudo Rojo was born in 1999, the result of a marriage of ancestral Bordeaux expertise and exceptional Chilean terroir. These fine branded wines are both cultivated in the great Bordeaux winemaking tradition of Baron Philippe de Rothschild and capitalise on Chile’s environmental richness. Just four years after the launch of Escudo Rojo, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild inaugurated the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile Bodega in 2003, situated 45 kilometres south of Santiago in the Maipo Valley. The opening marked Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s deep commitment to Chile.
