El Dorado 15 Year Old Rum

Attractive, rich copper-amber hue. A complex bouquet of confectioner's sugar, banana, cedar, and iodine. A silky entry leads to a moderately full-bodied palate of vibrant-yet-refined dry caramel and grilled tropical fruit flavours braced by warm alcohol and firm, smooth oak spice. Somewhat Scotch-like, with subtle peaty overtones. Beautifully proportioned and designed for long contemplative sipping.

The El Dorado range of rums, often referred to as the "Liquid Gold of Guyana", are outstanding examples of the Demerara style. The distillery has the facilities to produce every type of rum and has assured supplies of its basic raw material, molasses, from locally-grown sugar-cane. Its distilleries are entirely self-sufficient, with their own capability for steam and electricity generation, water supplies, water treatment, quality control and process laboratories.
