The bouquet is beautiful with primary, dark fruits and a lifted, flowery cool-mint style note, savoury characters emerge with a swirl of the glass of spice and cooked meat notes begin to appear. The palate is robust and concentrated with great intensity. The fruit is more expressive on the palate with a touch of raspberry, plum, blackcurrant and blueberry with strong underlying spice. The fragrant mineral silky tannins build nicely on the palate and provide great structure and very impressive length on the finish.

Since 1912 the Osborn family have tended vineyards in McLaren Vale, South Australia. Every vineyard has a personality which we encourage to flourish with minimal intervention in the vineyard and winery. Through time honoured techniques such as open fermentation, foot treading and basket pressing, this personality is allowed to shine. Harmony between environmental sustainability and wine industry practice is a strong commitment upheld at d'Arenberg, with the aim to pass on a sustainable business to the next generation. Today fourth generation family member, Chester, makes distinctive wines using traditional methods both in the vineyard and the winery.
