Burnt sienna brown colour with gold ochre hue. Inviting bouquet of liquorice, dried citrus peel, cinnamon, and clove. A sophisticated Sarsaparilla! The palate is a joy. A rich velvety texture delivers initially sweet flavours; aniseed, Portello, cinnamon sugar and spicy fruit cake, before the palate turns and takes on a slightly bitter character driven by orange marmalade and warm spice which persists into the very long aftertaste. Retains its freshness throughout and achieves the bitter/sweet balancing act with impeccable poise. A classic icon.

Antica Formula is a red fine vermouth, made from an original recipe by Antonio Benedetto Carpano dating from 1786. After much experimentation, he succeeded in creating this incomparable time-honoured recipe. This release is made from the distillery’s "ancient formula", flavored with botanicals such as wormwood, chamomile, orange peel, rose petals, calamus root, elderflowers and gentian. Antica Formula is produced in limited quantities involving special craftmanship. Each hand-blown bottle is numbered and has a replica 18th Century label, with a traditional cork and red seal.
