Dark purple in colour, it shows plenty of floral and red fruit notes on the bouquet. Velvety feeling, round taste
of raspberries and blackberries, balanced fruitiness and acidity showing elegance. Rich in tannins, very ample and lots of length on the finish. It is a wine of pure expression of Mencía from centuries-old vines and the terroir.

Cantariña arose as a result of the effort that some brothers had put into the project of recovering again an activity that their family had abandoned decades ago, but they have two preserved jewels: Los Pinos and Valdeobispo . Thanks to these two vineyards, which are located in Villafranca del Bierzo, the Ysart Alvarez brothers decided to recover viticulture and the production of quality wines. These brothers opted to innovate, which is why they recovered the terroir and the importance of caring for nature in the production of good wine, with the idea of transmitting the ideas that the land provides us. There are five brothers who are behind this project: Consu, Sonso, Santi and Jorge... Ysart Alvarez de Toledo. Their philosophy is to make wines with a hands-off approach, vinifying small parcels from individual vineyards, using only wild fermentions, and as little manipulation in the winery as possible, incuding no fining or filtration.
