Bumbu The Original Rum

Bumbu rum is something pretty special. Full-bodied, with rich and complex aromas of Madagascar vanilla, soft caramel, toasted oak and a little toffee, this isn't sweet and sickly, but nor is it so strong that sipping is a real challenge. Bumbu boasts deliciously soft layered notes of spice, roasted nuts and delicate sweet notes that are perfectly blended to create a light and exceptionally smooth rum.

In Barbados, rum isn’t just another spirit. We’re the original rum island, where rum was first created some 400 years ago. We’ve spent the last few centuries perfecting the art of distilling and blending our country’s most famous export. At Bumbu Rum Company, we handcraft our rums from a blend of the finest sugarcane from across the West Indies. Our rum is exceptionally balanced and smooth, without sacrificing the richness and complexity that makes our Barbados distillery’s rum the world’s best – although we’re a little biased. Bumbu is made at a historic Barbadian distillery founded in 1893 and continuously operated for more than 120 years. Our rum is distilled using two continuous stills. The yeast used during fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back as far as 1840, when some of our original iron pot stills were cast. This exceptionally pure water, coupled with carefully selected sugarcane from across the Caribbean and South America, lends the lightness and smoothness that’s central to Bumbu’s remarkable drinkability.
