Garnet red in colour, with purplish nuances. The bouquet is intense with dark berry fruits and hints of allspice, black cardamom, cloves and graphite. The palate brings a compote of black plums, blackberries and currants follows a balanced mid-palate with lively notes of red plums, black cherries, green olives and violets. A classic structure and a catchy texture with hints of espresso, tar and star anise lingering on the finish.

Goldmine Property is situated on the Riebeeksrivier Road, between Riebeek-Kasteeland Malmesbury and sits on the south western slopes of the Kasteelberg, purchased in 2014 by Boekenhoutskloof. The name Patina is derived from its source. Relating gold prospectors with their mining pans and the patina that developed on their equipment over time. Boekenhoutskloof's experience of Goldmine and its soils results in concentrated, yet finessed, textured and well-structured wines. This pocket of the Swartland undoubtedly produces some of the finest grapes in the appellation.
