Pale straw in colour with golden hue. The bouquet seduces with its fresh green fruit character, the aromas of Granny Smith and yellow apple, fresh pineapple, papaya and lime, which also shows hints of figs, acacia and lemon verbena. The fruit profile of the bouquet continues on the palate with aromas of poached pear, passion fruit, nectarine and quince. The mid-palate is very balanced with a soft smooth mouthfeel and lively but integrated citric acidity. Fresh tropical fruit lingers in a clean finish with notes of tarragon and ginger.

Goldmine Property is situated on the Riebeeksrivier Road, between Riebeek-Kasteeland Malmesbury and sits on the south western slopes of the Kasteelberg, purchased in 2014 by Boekenhoutskloof. The name Patina is derived from its source. Relating gold prospectors with their mining pans and the patina that developed on their equipment over time. Boekenhoutskloof's experience of Goldmine and its soils results in concentrated, yet finessed, textured and well-structured wines. This pocket of the Swartland undoubtedly produces some of the finest grapes in the appellation.
