Baleia Pinot Noir

An fresh Pinot Noir with a bouquet of red cherry notes. Pine needle, cedar and white chocolate notes are evident on the palate. The mineral sensation is an expression of the natural salts found in the unique soils and prepares the softness and rich tannins that ensure the finish is rich and velvety.

The success behind Baleia Wines lies in the location of our vineyard. Baleia is the only winery on the Lower Duiwenhoksrivier in Vermaaklikheid, which makes our wines unique in style. The winery crafts wines that reflect a Mediterranean lifestyle and bring you closer to the vastness of the ocean and memories of the beach. Our goal at Baleia is to create wines of quality and character reflective of the terroir they originate from. Due to our unique location near to St Sebastian Bay we will adapt our winemaking techniques to enhance and preserve our distinctiveness. With the careful usage of Terracotta Amphora, French oak barrels and large format Foudre casks, we prefer a more conservative approach of maturation, the duration of which is determined by 'vintage intensity' - we create wines with purity, complexity and focus. Wines which are reflective of their elements.
